Large Japanese Bronze Okimono by Masaaki

19th century
Description

A very large and beautifully cast okimono of a young boy and his Chin dog . The casting and finishing of this group is outstanding , it is finished in a dark Tokyo patination . To emphasize the quality and draw attention to the dog Masaaki has inlaid a silver line around the eyes and has made the pupils in Shakudo , a way of highlighting the dogs expression . this drawers the viewer to the dogs eyes . It is in beautiful original condition with the carved signature of Masaaki.
