We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

19th-century English horse racing prints are sporting artworks produced predominantly via engraving, aquatint, or lithography. They typically depict thoroughbred racehorses, famous jockeys, steeplechases, and historic racecourses, reflecting the immense popularity of horse racing during the Georgian and Victorian eras.

These prints were executed on heavy paper stocks using hand-engraved copper or steel plates. They were often hand-coloured with watercolour washes and framed behind glass in simple timber, oak, or gilded moulding frames to preserve the paper.

Authentic period prints usually feature plate marksan impression left in the paper by the metal platealong along with publisher lines, date marks, and artist or engraver attributions at the lower margin. Age-related foxing, toning of paper, and hand-applied watercolour variations also help distinguish originals from modern digital reproductions.

A set of equestrian prints works well arranged in a grid above a sideboard, along a staircase wall, or lining a hallway gallery. Pairing traditional dark wood frames with contemporary wall colours creates a balanced contrast between historic artwork and modern decor.

Keep antique prints away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and heat sources to prevent fading and foxing. Frame prints using acid-free mounting materials and UV-filtering glass, and clean frames using a dry microfibre cloth rather than liquid spray cleaners.
