This is a really attractive Ahar Heriz Carpet in absolutely beautiful condition dating from around 1930. The Ahar Heriz is a highly durable hand knotted woollen rug originating from Ahar in East Azerbaijan. These carpets combine the famous medallion layout of the traditional Heriz carpet with a slightly softer more curvilinear design. This Ahar has a raspberry field richly decorated with vines centred by an indigo flowerhead medallion.
