This is an incredibly elegant desk, which could also of course be used as a lovely dressing table, and would add elegance, class and sophistication to any room of ones choice. It is constructed from excellent quality satinwood timbers and absolutely smothered with every possible design of marquetry inlaid decoration which one could wish to imagine.
These kidney shaped desks are always extremely popular articles, mainly down to the fact they are just as at home in the corner of a room, or against a wall, as the
...y are stood centrally in the middle of a room. The variety of functions and rooms they can be used in and for also adds greatly to the appeal of course.
The desk has an old leather top, which remains in pretty good condition and is elegantly tooled. Should one wish to change this leather to a brand new one of a colour and design of their own choosing this can of course be relatively inexpensively undertaken as required. There is also a working key fitted to every drawer.
As with all items which we offer for sale this 19th century desk has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish to ensure it is in absolutely the best possible condition and ready for immediate placement within the home before being offered for sale.
