An exceptional 19th century North Wales oak dresser, retaining a beautifully detailed open plate rack above the dresser base. The base is fitted with a central arrangement of four graduated drawers flanked by cupboard doors to either side, each panel finely inlaid with delicate urn motifs. Further decorative stringing and inlaid detail can be seen throughout the piece, particularly to the drawer divisions and uprights.The rack is of particularly fine quality, featuring shaped shelves beneath an elegant pierced fretwork cornice with additional inlaid urn decoration to the sides. The shelves retain their original shaped fronts and provide excellent display space. The oak throughout has developed a rich, deep colour and patina with attractive grain and surface character.
