Description

A fine pair of Spode Felspar porcelain dessert plates, circa 1830.

Decorated in pattern no. 4033 with well-executed hand-painted floral sprays to the centres, within iron-red and gilt borders and moulded gadrooned rims.

Felspar porcelain, introduced by Spode in the early 1820s, is noted for its refined appearance and durability, and was widely used for quality tablewares of the period.

Both plates bear Spode mark to the reverse, dating them to circa 1825-30.

Diameter: 25 cm

Condition:

Excellent. No damage, restoration, or crazing. Very light wear only.

A highly decorative and usable pair.
