Penderyn Antiques has dated this Victorian Mahogany Compactum Wardrobe to the Victorian era.
The front is arranged with a central cupboard above a bank of graduated drawers, flanked by a pair of full-length mirrored doors. The central door is fitted with carved panels and opens to reveal hanging space within. Below, there are a series of drawers fitted with original brass handles, all well made and of good depth. The side cupboards open to further hanging compartments, each fitted with rails and retaining their original internal fittings, with additional drawers set to the base. The wardrobe is raised on a plinth base and is constructed in solid mahogany with a rich, warm colour and tone throughout. A substantial and well-proportioned piece, offering excellent storage.

CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition, with signs of wear commensurate with age and use. There are marks, scratches and areas of wear throughout, including some areas of fading and surface wear as pictured. There is some minor veneer wear and small areas of loss in places. The drawers are solid and sound and run well. The doors open and close as they should. Overall, the piece is structurally solid and sound.
