Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Neoclassical silver plated jardinieres feature classical architectural motifs such as laurel garlands, ribbon bows, fluting, and symmetrical oval silhouettes popularised during the late 18th century and revived in the early 20th century.

These decorative items were typically manufactured by electroplating fine silver over a base metal such as brass or nickel silver, frequently incorporating removable metal liners to prevent water damage when holding flowers.

Authentic period examples exhibit detailed casting in decorative elements like swags and bows, maker stamps or silver plate purity marks, and subtle patina or wear to high points where the underlying base metal may show.

Position the jardiniere as a central focus on a dining table or console table, filled with potted orchids, dried botanicals, or kept unfilled as an independent sculptural vessel.

Clean gently using a non-abrasive soft cloth and specialised silver polish, ensuring moisture is removed from seams to prevent oxidisation, and avoid harsh chemical dips that strip thin silver layers.
