FAQs

Mid-century impressionist art often emphasises loose brushwork, textured paint application, and capturing momentary light and mood rather than strict realism.

Artists during this period typically utilised oil paints applied heavily with brushes or palette knives onto stretched canvas, often housed within wooden frames.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit genuine canvas ageing, artist signatures, visible paint cracking or craquelure, and traditional stretcher frame construction without modern staples.

Hang the artwork as a focal point on a neutral wall to highlight its texture, or integrate it into a gallery wall alongside mixed-era frames.

Keep the artwork away from direct sunlight and high humidity, and gently dust the surface with a soft, dry brush without using liquid cleaners.
