A substantial Welsh oak dresser and rack, probably South West Wales, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. The rack is surmounted by a broad moulded cornice with dentil-style detailing and turned pendant drops, above open plate shelves with a boarded back. A central open compartment is flanked by small panelled cupboard doors, providing useful enclosed storage alongside display space.The dresser base is fitted with three frieze drawers retaining turned brass knobs, above a pair of panelled cupboard doors enclosing a shelved interior. The sides are of simple framed construction and the piece stands on sturdy square legs.
