A superb four drawers, two part Military Chest of drawers by the leading makers of Campaign furniture, Ross & Co. of Ellis Quay, Dublin, Ireland. In great condition and of very pleasing colour. Ross& Co. are widely accepted as the very best makers of Campaign furniture from the 19th century. This undoubtedly is a genuine example that displays all the tell-tale expected attributes such as the serpentine shaped brass corner plates, the slightly raised circular lock plates and the typically shaped recessed handles. Furthermore, it retains all three known manufacturers signature marks, including the very rare full set of addressed brass handles, the ink stencil between the two halves and the top-drawer makers plaque.
