Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These 19th-century French country fireplace bellows comprise a large pair of antique hearth tools rendered in warm brown wood and dark leather with a brass nozzle and brass studs. The pieces show a maker stamp printed on the wooden body alongside an engraved numerical marking and a flexible leather gusset framing the main chamber, complemented by extended tapered wooden handles at the rear. Each bellows measures 14 cm high, 122 cm wide and 31 cm deep. Placed beside a living room fireplace hearth in a traditional or rustic home setting, they serve as a practical fireside accessory or decorative period object.

Fireplace bellows were designed to deliver a controlled blast of air into an open fire or hearth, increasing oxygen delivery to ignite or intensify flames.

Traditional French bellows combine shaped wooden boards, often walnut or fruitwood, with flexible leather gussets secured by brass or iron tacks and a metal nozzle.

Authentic pieces frequently feature maker stamps or stencils on the wooden casing, hand-forged tacks, natural surface patination, and historic wear along the leather seams.

Antique bellows are styled beside open hearths, displayed on a fireplace alcove shelf, or wall-mounted near log burners to add texture and historical context.

The wooden components should be treated with neutral beeswax polish, while the leather elements require periodic conditioning with dedicated leather balm to prevent drying.
