Marylebone Antiques has dated this William IV Compactum Wardrobe to the 1850s.
This is of amazing quality and is a most impressive piece.
The flame mahogany panelled doors have beautifully carved baluster rails going down the sides, with incredibly fine details. This sits on an inverted breakfront plinth base and the top has a beautifully moulded cornice. The central bank of drawers are adorned with a stunning shell carved pediment.

The mahogany has a gorgeous rich colour tone and wonderful grain patterns. We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There are various small marks and indentations here and there under the polish, commensurate for age.

This breaks down into six smaller sections for ease of transport, when assembled this is a very large item with lots of storage space for clothes.
