A small bronze Elephant attributed to Franz Xavier Bergmann (1861-1936) Beautifully detailed with ivory tusks and in very good and original condition. 100mm high, 140mm wide and 60mm deep. Austrian. Circa 1890.
 
Franz Xaver Bergmann was a celebrated owner of a Viennese bronze foundry particularly noted for its patinated and cold painted bronze figures and sculptures.
