Pair Of Fine Art Deco Cabinets

A particularly fine and rare pair of Art Deco cabinets by Hampton and Sons with superb quality, matching walnut veneers to the tops, drawers and cupboard doors, contrasted with straight grained walnut and maple banding. Both with two top drawers, one cabinet with the drawers lined in a beige fabric and each with two shelves to the two door cupboard below. Both locks operated by the same key. The Hamptons label to a drawer of each cabinet.
 
Hampton & Sons was formed approximately in 1830 by William Hampton and was joined soon after by his two sons. They were registered as London cabinet makers, upholsterers, retailers and antique dealers, gaining a reputation of making and selling high quality items. They produced furniture for the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary ships, The Theatre Royal in Drury Lane and The Dorchester Hotel. It opened a factory at Ingate Place, Battersea in 1930.
