A fantastic quality mahogany and satinwood late Victorian desk. The desk stands on small tapered spade feet and has either side of the kneehole two drawers and an open shelf, there is then a central drawer, above this the writing surface and a superstructure of drawers and open selves. The side parts of the desk, and interior of the kneehole area, are all panelled with satinwood which gives a wonderful contrast in colour and lightens the piece, also on the outside are two hidden cabinets. The whole is of the finest quality cabinetmaking with all mahogany lined drawers and all the original copper handles. This is a piece of quality in solid mahogany and hugely useable today. The desk is in untouched condition so it does have scratches and marks but this means the patina and colour are also untouched.
