This Art Deco patinated bronze sculpture represents a female dancer with one leg raised, holding a silvered and patinated scarf aloft in both hands. The piece stands on a square marble base surmounted by three circular tiered sections. The warm brown figure displays a dynamic stance and detailed casting, accompanied by a signature from Guiraud Riviere and Etling Paris alongside light wear to the patina and a small chip to the marble base. Dating from around 1925, the figure measures 49 cm high. Suitable for display in a living room, study or hallway, the sculpture rests comfortably upon a sideboard top, mantelpiece or console table. The composition adds a decorative focal point to interior settings, combining classic bronze work with the distinctive motifs of the period.

Art Deco bronze sculptures typically feature dynamic, stylized human forms capturing movement, rhythm, and modern physical culture, popularised during the 1920s and 1930s.

These figurative works were generally cast in bronze via lost-wax or sand casting, enhanced with chemical patinas, and mounted onto geometric marble or onyx bases.

Authentic period pieces usually feature cast signatures, foundry stamps, precise hand-chased detailing, and original tiered or polished mineral bases.

Place the figure on a console table, sideboard, or illuminated display shelf where focused lighting highlights the metallic tones and sculpted contours.

Dust the figure regularly with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth without chemical detergents, and periodically apply a thin coat of microcrystalline wax to shield the surface.
