This small intricate rug, with almost square-shaped proportions, has the feel of a mosaic. An array of bird-shaped motifs surround the central star medallions, which is condensed into a relatively small space. The ''running water'' motif can be also be made out along the golden ribbon that surrounds the main field and outer border, a key symbol of life and fertility. With all these elements, this antique rug would be a beautiful addition to any space.
