Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Masons Ironstone is a patented type of heavy earthenware developed by Miles Mason in the early 19th century, designed to offer a durable and affordable alternative to imported Chinese porcelain.

Ironstone is composed of a mixture of china stone, ball clay, feldspar, and a proportion of slag iron, fired at high temperatures to create a dense, highly durable ceramic body that is typically hand-painted or transfer-printed.

Authentic pieces are generally identified by impressed or printed makers marks on the base, specific weight and thickness characteristic of ironstone bodies, and hand-applied polychrome enamels often featuring Chinoiserie or Imari motifs.

These pieces can be displayed as statement decorative objects on open shelving, used as distinctive vessels for dried botanicals, or incorporated into a curated tablescape to add historical texture and vibrant colour.

Antique ironstone should be washed gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent; dishwashers and harsh scrubbing should be strictly avoided to protect the historic glaze and delicate hand-painted enamels.
