This Heals chest has the makers label inset into a top drawer, but also has a wonderful brass makers dedication plaque which is inset into the back of the chest. This gives us the information that the chest was made by F.K.Morley at Heals for Ian.F.Panton in 1932. A more unusual design having eight drawers, all have hand cut dovetails with solid oak drawer linings and all have the original, ebonised oak handles. All eight run smoothly with two slender drawers to the top flanked by a pair of squarer drawers, beneath are four long and graduating drawers. Each drawer has a stepped front and they are clean inside. The chest top has a nicely moulded edge to all sides. In fabulous, very original condition, a rarer design and much larger than usual. A special one off order by Heals of London.
