Early 18th Century Provincial Oak Chest of Drawers of Superb Patina, Probably East Anglian

An early 18th century (circa 1710) provincial oak chest of drawers of superb patina, probably from the East Anglian region.

This provincial chest of drawers is a transitional piece with construction methods from the late 17th century and also influences of the early 18th century, this chest of drawers also splits into two, this allowing for easier access into smaller properties, staircases etc.

This chest of drawers consists of a two plank oak top of wonderful patina with a moulded edge, this leading down to a moulded frieze of wavy design, this being a typical feature from the East Anglian region.

The pine lined drawers consist of two short over three long drawers all with brass swan neck handles, the long drawers also with central brass escutcheons with a moulded rail below.

The chest of drawers having panelled ends and is supported on four bracket feet.

This chest of drawers is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and go straight into a home.
