Antique Oak Settle Bench

Description

A charming antique oak settle featuring a beautifully crafted four-arched fielded panel back and open arms. The removable seat cushion is upholstered in a vintage green print fabric adorned with delightful folkloric motif. The cushion rests on traditional strung supports, which have been sympathetically replaced in a sturdy formation to ensure lasting comfort and durability.

This elegant piece stands on turned front legs, united by an attractively shaped stretcher, with square stretchers to the sides and centre. A fine example of traditional craftsmanship and timeless design, this settle would make a wonderful addition to any classic or country interior.

In good antique condition throughout, showing some signs of age. There is surface wear, including age-related marks and scratches, splitting to the arms, and some loss throughout. The underside shows historic woodworm, which has been treated and is no longer present. Despite these imperfections, the settle remains solid and structurally sound.
