Antique Karabagh Carpet

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a good antique Karabagh carpet in super condition dating from around 1910.

The rug is beautifully hand woven with good detail and has an attractive color palette. The Karabagh are tribal carpets originating from the South Caucuses in east Asia and this example is a particularly good carpet with a lovely lilac field of polychrome boteh centred by much detail including an ivory stepped medallion, enclosed by borders of barber poles and double carnation guard stripes.

Excellent condition for the age with only slight wear and some areas of low pile.

It is a beautiful carpet with lovely colours and details ready to add great character to any home.

The carpet is a useful size at 330cm by 139cm.
