Pair of Antique Leather-Bound Books – The Casquet of Literature, Volumes II & VI

A pair of antique volumes from The Casquet of Literature, edited by Charles Gibbon and published by Blackie & Son, London, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin. Each volume bound in half leather with gilt-decorated spines, raised bands, and marbled-style boards, with all edges gilt. Illustrated with engraved plates and containing a wide selection of literary works with accompanying biographical and critical notes.

Volumes present are Vol. II and Vol. VI (from the original six-volume set).

Dimensions:

Each volume 16 cm x 22.5 cm

Condition:

Wear and rubbing to the bindings, fading and scuffing to spines, some foxing and age-toning to pages. One board shows surface staining. Bindings remain sound.
