Gents 1950s Alpina wrist watch.
The watch has a 17-jewel calibre 588 hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The calibre 588 was launched in 1955. The movement is protected by an inner cover.
The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition. The screw-on case back states that the watch is impermeable but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture. It also has the word pare-chocs which refers to the movement’s shockproofing system.
The lens is in good condition.
The dial is signed Alpina, it is in its original finish with original hands and red centre seconds hand. There is light marking to the dial.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before
...listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
