19th Century Classical Engraving, The Last Dream, Engraved by F R Roffe from a monument by J Edwards.

Monument of Miss Hutton of Sowber Hill near Northallerton with sculpture of a deceased woman lying on a bed, holding a book under her left arm; two female angels levitating above the bed, surrounded by clouds, the one at left with her arm around the waist of the other, looking down at the woman with an inviting gesture of her hand, the one at right pointing towards the sky.

With Inscription 'Her sun went down while it was yet day, but unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness'.

Original 19th century engraving in contemporary gold frame. Good condition with some spotting - see photos.

Dimensions: 32.5cm x 40.5cm
