An exquisite late 18th-century Georgian mahogany and satinwood inlaid chest-on-stand. This is a truly superior example, embodying the refined elegance of the Georgian period. Constructed from beautifully figured mahogany, the piece showcases a rich, warm patina that highlights the natural grain and depth of the timber. The cabinetmaker’s skill is evident in the meticulous satinwood inlays, with the chest featuring a series of graduated drawers fitted with elegant brass swan-neck handles, a hallmark of Georgian design. The upper section comprises four long drawers, their surfaces adorned with delicate marquetry, while the lower stand, featuring three drawers flanking a central arched apron, is supported by gracefully curved cabriole legs.
