Description

A handsome 18th-century elm chest featuring a moulded cornice top. It offers two short drawers over three full-width drawers, each fitted with classic brass drop handles. The chest is elegantly raised on shaped bracket feet and separates into two sections for ease of transport.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition overall, showing typical signs of age consistent with its period. The piece has surface wear including age-related marks, scratches, and dents throughout. There is splitting to both the sides and the top, which is also marked by areas of fading and staining. Despite these signs of wear, the chest remains a sturdy and attractive example of 18th-century craftsmanship.
