Description

A fine example of a late Regency watercolour portrait of a gentleman. The sitter is shown casually seated and dressed in a grey brown suit. The work is not signed however this is not unusual for this type of portrait. The portrait is in excellent condition with the colours bright and true, and the paper showing little signs of discolouration. The portrait retains the original gilt frame in excellent untouched condition. The whole is an excellent example of this type of watercolour portrait and is ready to hang. C.1830.
