We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Arts and Crafts movement emerged in Britain during the late 19th century as a reaction against mass production, championing traditional craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and medieval-inspired design.

Traditional items from this period were typically fashioned from hand-forged wrought or cast iron, often finished with a dark protective coating or left with a natural oxidised patina.

Authentic pieces generally display subtle irregularities from hand-hammering, traditional joinery methods such as riveting, and natural wear consistent with age rather than modern casting flaws.

These functional objects can be integrated by placing them in traditional entryways or using them as sculptural desk accents, adding texture and historical contrast to minimalist spaces.

Preservation involves keeping the metal in a dry environment to prevent rust, occasionally applying a microcrystalline wax to protect the surface, and avoiding harsh chemical cleaners.
