Superb Leather Topped Writing Desk - Five Drawers & Castors - circa 1860
The desk is presented in excellent order throughout.
The desk rides upon elegantly tapered legs which terminate in a lovely original brass castor.
The inset centre drawer design provides additional practicality and the craftsmanship marks the piece out as one of quality.
The desk benefits from four further full depth drawers, each of which displays wonderful crossbanding and fine line inlay to the front.
The upper surface has a gorgeous original leather skiver insert which is beautifully tooled and displays age in a very desirable fashion.
Overall this piece of furniture is in very good condition. The desk is well constructed and very solid. The mahogany displays very well. It is rare to find an example in this order.
