Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Antique iron beds gained popularity during the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century when mass production techniques allowed for the creation of durable, hygienic metal furniture as an alternative to wood.

These beds typically utilise cast iron and wrought iron components, often featuring tubular frames, joined with robust metal fittings and hand-poured castings for structural integrity.

Authenticity can be verified by examining the surface texture for hand-applied finishes, checking for threaded joints, assessing the weight of the cast iron elements, and looking for makers marks or registration numbers.

An antique iron bed works well as a focal point in contemporary or traditional bedrooms when balanced with neutral linens, natural wood flooring, and minimalist bedside tables to soften the industrial aesthetic.

Preservation involves dusting with a dry microfiber cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners that can damage the original finish, and treating any oxidation promptly with specialist wax or protective coatings.
