Description

Impressive cylinder top pedestal desk walnut by the celebrated English cabinet makers Maple & Co. c.1890. Raised and moulded gallery to the top, over a lockable cylinder cover lifting to reveal a fitted interior of pigeon holes and six maple veneered stationery drawers above the slide-out 53? x 22" work surface (28" knee height below). The three leather covered panels in the desk top are hinged, the centre panel with a stand to form a reading slope, the side panels with space below for letters or writing paper. Note the original flush fitting brass pulls. Raised on twin pedestals with three drawers of graduated height and a generous kneehole space between. Solid walnut drawer fronts, raised and fielded, with the original brass handles and mahogany drawer linings. Reeded detail flanking the drawers. Solid walnut sides and back, polished all round. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied for the cylinder and drawers.

Separates into three pieces for delivery.
