Antoinettes Heirlooms has dated this Georgian Stoneware Ale Jug to the Georgian era.
The jug is a superb stoneware example.
the relief moulding is beautifully sharp. If I were to fault this jug it would be difficult!
It has a small area of the handle which has a manufacturing flaw! Perhaps when the potter lifted the jug in its final pre glaze stage!! As the surface is clearly scuffed! But this is under glaze and has not hindered its use or beauty for the past 205 years!

JD Bagster is clearly imprinted in the hounds collar.
The scene is one of hunting with “sight hounds” .
I imagine this to be greyhound/lurcher.
Other than the original flaw mentioned and photographed the jug is free from restoration , chips cracks or crazing.
Approx 7 1/2inches tall
