Omega T17 curvex wrist watch, 1939, WW2
UK POSTAGE ONLY FOR THIS ITEM
The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. This is the calibre T17, first introduced in 1934 and so called because of its tonneau shape and 17mm width. The movement was in production until 1943. It is fully signed and it has the serial number
9,084,705 which dates it back to 1939. The movement is protected by an inner cover.
The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 39mm high and 32.5mm high excluding the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition for such an early piece, some surface scratching to the bottom right hand corner of the front, and some marking to the corners of the case back. The stepped design is unusual, and typical of the Art Deco period.
The curved lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish, and there is some age related freckling and darkening.
Original hands.
The watch comes on a vintage leather strap, possibly the original as it has been sewn on.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
