Louis Icart ( 1888 - 1950 ) Original Etching a Aquatint on paper, framed and signed in pencil on lower right border and the number 139/350 on the lower left border.
 
The Etching ''Paresse'' ( Laziness ) was published in 1925. Copyright 1925 by Les Graveurs Modernes, 194 Rue de Rivoli, Paris. The plate measures 48cm x 38cm. Overall measurements including frame 69cm x 61cm. It is in a new gilt wood frame, new double mount and new backing. Excellent condition. No foxing or fading. Any light variation is reflection from the camera.
 
Louis Icart was a French artist best known for his drawings of glamorous women - often erotic or humorous in tone - as well as for his depiction of 1920s and 1930s Paris life. He was born in Toulouse in 1888, and began drawing at a young age. In 1907 he moved to Paris and began studying painting, drawing and printmaking.
