A fine quality Victorian solid silver faced barometer or pocket watch case, hallmarked Birmingham 1901; complete with working pocket barometer. The arched top case with decorative embossed and fretted solid silver front, sat over dark red leather. Matching leather to the rear with fold out easel stand for free standing. Push button release to the side, the hinged front opening to access the barometer with original red velvet and silk lined interior recessed to hold the barometer in place. The removable nickel plated London made barometer with porcelain dial and revolving bezel for marking the reading; hanging loop to the top. The silver case bearing the makers mark for Birmingham silversmiths Henry Matthews along with clear hallmarks. Presented in superb original condition, the barometer in full working order.
