Mews Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The handles are scooped out underneath where you cannot see with the stepped edges to the drawer fronts. The sides echo this design having steps aswell. A great and very rare piece.

The Brynmawr Experiment was set up by the Quakers in the 1920s following the economic problems with coal and the great depression with the coal industry being hit very hard. Paul Matt joined in 1930 and left in 1936 leaving Arthur Basil Rynolds who was already there as Designer and Manager.
