Italian School oil painting portrait depicting a young woman wearing a red cape with a large white collar above an olive green dress. Her beautifully painted hands are folded and her hair is gathered and tightly held by a large hair comb pin. Her appearance is innocent and neat.

The back of the canvas shows the writing “Al secolo Serafina Molinari” which reveals that this young person took vows and that her name, before becoming a nun, was Serafina Molinari.

We believe that this very fine painting is dateable from the second half of the 19th century at the latest.
