Antique Malayer Kellah Carpet Runner

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a beautiful Malayer Kelleh carpet dating from around 1920. The soft woollen hand woven carpet has a very pleasing warm colour palette with rich coral red, deep indigo, mid blue and ivory all featuring. There are five linked diamond lozenges to the central field enclosed by brick red borders of flowerheads and angular vines, and carnation guard stripes.

This characterful carpet would bring great charm and warmth to any room. It is generally in good order with a low even pile and some wear and losses to the ends and selvedges.

The carpet measures 330 cms by 150 cms.
