Description

Tom Clough 1867-1943.Bolton born landscape artist who initially worked as a lithographic printer.He took up landscape painting in the 1880s and came to notice when his painting “ Gorsey Heath “ was accepted by the Royal Academy in 1893.He moved in 1884 to live in Glan Conway in North Wales where he painted many of his best known works which were exhibited at the leading galleries,including 14 paintings at the Royal Academy at the Royal Cambrian Academy where he exhibited 116 paintings.He also painted in Cornwall,Devon,Northern France and Italy. ‘Sardine Fishing,the Quay,Concarneau,Brittany’ signed watercolour,image size 36x43cms,framed size 59x66 cms.Housed in original giltwood frame and mount.One of a pair in stock by this artist.
