Japanese Meiji period Satsuma plate with original box, circa 1900
Three overlapping shaped vignette panels finely painted in enamels and raised gilt, a procession of Samurai marching through a Fujiyama landscape, four noblemen/ sages with attendants reading a large scroll in a bamboo copse and three geisha enjoying the cherry blossom.
The plate in excellent condition with no damage, repair or wear, noting typical slight age darkening to the back.
Diameter 7,3/8'' or 187mm weight 315 grams
The silk lined fitted box good and sound, insignificant losses to the faux crocodile skin paper covering.
