Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
Over four drawers (the right hand drawer being double height with the front mirroring the two drawer fronts on the left) arranged around a raised kneehole at the centre (height 24"). With large Empire style brass escutcheon plates to the drawer fronts featuring swans, emblem of the Empress Josephine. Brass arrow and laurel wreath mounts to the top of the legs at the front of the desk. Note the brass work continues on the left hand side of the desk (with two dummy drawer fronts) but not the right. Raised on turned column legs with chased brass mounts top and bottom. Some old surface wear to the, generally very good condition, fitted with new leather skivers, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
