A fine and beautifully painted on glass silhouette of General Wolfe. The detail of the painting is superb and is in very good untouched condition. The work is titled on the reverse General Wolfe. General Wolfe 1727-1759 is chiefly remembered for his battles against the French in Canada during the Seven Years War. This work would have been made in the 1850’s probably around the centenary of Wolfe’s death. The silhouette is framed in the original frame and is an interesting and decorative example.
