Lee Wright Antiques & Interiors Ltd has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
This commode is of rectangular form with tapering square sectioned legs.
Below the drawers is a narrow frieze which has dentilled detailing. The sides of the piece are nicely panelled with finely figured timbers as on the drawer fronts. The commode has an overhanging top with a moulded edge and the timber used here is of straighter grain for an effective contrast with the curly veneers used for the side panels and drawer fronts.
A nicely proportioned piece of furniture of good, small size.
