A beautiful antique rug, woven near the city of Shirvan in the eastern Caucasus region of present day Azerbaijan circa 1920. The design features 2 large medallions on an indigo field of various geometrical shapes surrounded by an attractive ivory border
Size: 1.60m x 0.97m (5ft 3in x 3ft 2in)
This rug has medium, age related wear, with areas that are slightly heavier in various places (see photos). 2 small repairs in the field (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
