One of the earliest pewter ''broad rim'' plates I have bought, from the beginning of the 17thc...it is stamped with the touch mark of Pierre Roze 1 , Geneva and is dated 1609....it also has stamped onto the top of the plate, a coat of arms, bordered with a wreath of laurel leaves, a symbol of triumph and a cockerel symbolic of vigilance, virility, and bravery.... two stars are in each corner....the plate is in very good condition.
Geneva - Switzerland 1609.
