Andros Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The figured walnut veneered drawers have decorative herringbone banding decoration, as does the top. The sides also have a cross banded decorative detail to them. The cross-grained mouldings add further interest to the piece, as does the brassware.
Standing on substantial bracket feet, this very solid chest of drawers is of a particularly good weight. The walnut is a lovely warm aged tone, and this piece would work well in both a traditional, or indeed as a statement piece in a more modern decorative environment.
