Notes -The work has been shown to the Brontė Parsonage Museum in the past, who suggest it may have been painted by John Hunter Thompson; a friend of Branwell Bronte, both taught art by William Robinson of Leeds. Thompson and Branwell were members of a group of struggling Bradford artists and writers who met regularly for drinking sessions in the George Hotel.
