Description

A very pretty early 19th century French oak single door marriage armoire / bonnetiere in Louis XVI style, the arched cornice carved in deep relief with a basket of flowers and trailing foliage, over a glazed upper panel backed with pale green fabric, over a carved panel with a design musical instruments and a lower panel, the base with a single drawer and shaped apron extensively carved with foliage.

The interior of the armoire is lined to the upper section with olive green hessian fabric and passementerie detailing, the fabric to the reverse of the glazed panel is attached by two brass rod and can easily be replaced with a different fabric or be removed for use as a display cabinet. With original key.

A lovely armoire in very good condition, one small section of loss to the basket of flowers.
